Covid-19 is from the Kingdom of Darkness, really?
There have been too many talks about the Covid-19 pandemic that sometimes, I have some reservations regarding statements that make Covid-19 a part of the spiritual attack by the Kingdom of Darkness.
While it is true that there is an ongoing spiritual warfare, to spiritualise everything from cancer to death caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, or even losing the US presidential election, we are in danger of becoming spiritual freaks.
I remember some 40 years ago, there were many who believed in preachers such Kenneth Copeland, Kenneth Hagin and Gloria Copeland, who would turn faith and prayer into some kind of magic.
I remember buying a book by a local author who said that he had prayed for a piano. He and his wife visualised a piano at a specific location in the house. Lo and behold, the next day someone gave them a piano.
Of course, I tried to visualise receiving one million Ringgit in my Santa goodies bag, but till today, the bag is still empty!
There was also the spirit of toothache that we were told to cast out whenever we had pain in the toothache. How ridiculous!
And recently, I heard that a lady pastor is teaching her congregation that cancer patients should resist any form of medical treatment as though they are resisting the devil.
The devil has a part to play in almost everything that has to do with death of people, whether through war, plaque, or pandemic.
We should not focus too much on Satan. Satan is not God. The angel of light has no power over the believers. In short, he cannot touch a believer unless God allows it. Just like Job, God may allow us to go through some form of disability and even death.
As long as it brings glory to Him, whatever we do or have to go through, it is all within the will of God. Jesus himself prayed regarding the suffering on the cross. Nevertheless, His prayer was not to seek God to remove the cup of suffering from Him. "Not my will, but Yours be done!" Jesus prayed. Ought not we pray the same?
Throughout the Bible, God sent plaques, God lifted up a pagan ruler like Nebuchadnezzar to chastise His people, and God used all sorts of disasters, wars, famines, but the sovereignty of God rather than the power of darkness was always the focus. It was always being emphasised.
Our focus should therefore be God Himself, who allows some of these pestilences in the world today. As we know that we are living in the end times, dare we think that even the Covid-19 pandemic is all within His sovereign plan? When you see all these things, you know that the end times are near.
Our warfare with the power of darkness is not to pray against Covid 19 but to pray that God will set free more souls from the bondage of sin through the preaching of the gospel.
The emphasis is very different from what I see people are now emphasising on.
